Music recviews are generally not my thing... or so you would think. Though recently I've been asked to review two albums and at first this might seem a little odd but having of spent the first few years just out of high school working in the music industry it is not as strange as one might think. I also enjoy checking out the album artwork as much as the tracks it contains.
Now for the first cab off the rank...
'Perilous Times' the latest album by
The Nomad is about to be released after 2 years of creatives in different disciplines working together. Even though the album can be heard via
The Nomad website there is just something special about holding a cover that just cannot be replicated through the computer. Especially when the cover is such a fine looking cover as the one for this album. Created by Francis Cheetham from
Resn in New Zealand. Francis has also worked on the artwork for the last three covers for
The Nomad.
The tracks on 'Perilous Times' are a sultry performance with throbbing, reggae infused dubstep rhythms which effortlessly merge into one another seamlessly. Well produced and polished yet with just enough grit. I can see this album fast becoming a new favourite to listen to post surf on the drive home.
