Karen's Diner, Where The Food Is Great, The Service Is Ungrateful

Karen's Diner

A stylist and an athlete walk into a diner, and the manager doesn't care. It is an additional reason to serve up an extra side of sass, if anything.

"Great Food, Terrible Service" is the motto of Karen's Diner, a 1950s-US-style burger joint that has opened on the famous Lygon Street in Carlton.

Do not go in expecting special treatment at this diner - Karen is the star of the show. The diner is all about Karen, and she won't put up with any of your nonsense. Karen's Diner is a diner unlike anything else you've experienced, the waiters serve up chaotic and rude service, and there are frequent guest appearances from the manager - the biggest Karen of them all! It is a two-way street, and while the staff give attitude, they fully expect it back - respectfully.

I love dirty American burgers, fries, shakes, cocktails and a hilariously good time; Karen's Diner did not disappoint.

What we ordered from the menu:
  • Burger: Two of the The "I Want To See The Manager" Karen
  • Karen's Bit On The Side: Bacon and Chicken Fries
  • Cocktails: Karen After Dark and The Tropical Karen
If you've received terrible service at other establishments when asking for vegetarian, vegan or non-alcoholic alternatives, Karen has your back with plenty of options.

Round up your Karens because this immersive, pop-up dining experience is not to be missed, especially if you enjoy complaining - you're sure to be in for a horrendously good time.

If your name is actually Karen they will give you a free drink - bring some ID.

Tickets can be bought through Hidden Melbourne - secure yourself a roasting session!
