June 2021 Beauty, Skincare and Wellness Empties

June 2021 Beauty, Skincare and Wellness Empties

The best products are the ones you use up to the very last drop and then repurchase. Last month I was finally organised enough to collect my beauty, skincare and wellness empties, and I have done it again throughout June, and I'm excited to share them with you! There are so many 5/5 products this month, with some I've already repurchased.

Brand: Pantene

Product: Repair & Protect Foam Conditioner, 47g

Price: $9.99 for 180ml

Where did I get it: February 2019 Bellabox

I would likely: use if gifted

Rate: 2/5

My thoughts:

I was excited to try this as I hadn't used a foam conditioner before. The foam conditioner is easily massaged into your scalp and ends, and the product has a pleasant and non-overbearing scent. I found the foam difficult to manage regarding how much I needed to use for my hair. I like the idea of foam as a method to condition hair; however, I feel that I get better repair results through using a good hair mask.

Brand: Dr Botanicals

Product: Pomegranate Superfood Regenerating Sleeping Mask, 30ml

Price: $21.90 for 30ml

Where did I get it: June 2019 Bellabox

I would likely: purchase for myself or as a gift

Rate: 5/5

My thoughts:

This is a hydrating overnight treatment for thirsty dull skin. Pomegranate (the main active ingredient) is high in antioxidants that aim to nourish the skin. It's so easy to use; I applied a thin layer onto clean, dry skin by tapping it on my face and neck and allowed the mask to sink into the skin and leave overnight. I then cleansed, as usual, the following morning. After using this mask, I woke to skin that looked and felt hydrated and refreshed. I would typically use this mask when I felt my skin needed that extra boost of hydration. I was also pleasantly surprised at how many uses I got out of the product as well.

Brand: Kate Somerville

Product: Hydro-Pluming Serum Concentrate, 5ml

Price: $40 for 15ml

Where did I get it: Sample with an order from Mecca

I would likely: purchase and would certainly use if gifted

Rate: 5/5

My thoughts:

The perfect cream for after a peel or when your skin is stressed. It works so well at calming and reducing irritation. This cream has more of a balm-like texture than a creamy one; however, I found it to sink very well into the skin. The only thing holding me back from purchasing this product is the price point compared to similar products I've recently tried.

Brand: Glow Recipe

Product: Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream, 10ml

Price: $59 for 50ml

Where did I get it: Sample with an order from Mecca

I would likely: purchase and would certainly use if gifted

Rate: 5/5

My thoughts:

This moisturiser can be applied morning and evening. After cleansing, smooth a small amount over the skin. This has been a mini pot of hydrating goodness during the recent cold weather. It leaves my skin with a big moisture boost, and I love it. It smells great, the texture is lovely and goes on so well. The only things that some might not like about this product are the dewy finish and the banana lolly like smell.

Brand: Dr Dennis Gross

Product: Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel, 30 treatments

Price: $134 for 30 treatments

Where did I get it: Purchased from Mecca

I would likely: I have already repurchased

Rate: 5/5

My thoughts:

I've had salon facial peels and used at home peels before. In most situations, what I struggled with most is the aftercare and downtime. I love the Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel because they are easy to use; apply step 1 to clean dry skin, wait two minutes, and then apply step 2. There is no downtime, and they are safe to use morning or night. I started using them every second night for two weeks and then started using them daily. I'm using them to help combat skin concerns related to ageing and exposure to the elements. Since I started using them in April, my skin looks much smoother, feels softer, and my fine lines are lessened. I also really like that Dr Dennis Gross has a strong focus on sun protection, which gives me faith in that his products are suited to my outdoors lifestyle.

Brand: Jurlique

Product: Signature Eye Cream, 2 x 1ml sachets

Price: $65 for 15ml

Where did I get it: Received a sample at a conference

I would likely: use if gifted

Rate: 4/5

My thoughts:

Like most eye creams on the market, this one is specifically designed to visibly improve the delicate area around the eye by minimising the appearance of lines and wrinkles while firming the skin. It has a silky texture, a lovely patchouli-like fragrance and worked well with my other products. I should state I cannot ever recall buying eye cream; it is a product I seem to always have a sample of. If I were to buy an eye cream, would I buy this one? It's hard to say, there isn't anything I don't like about it, and I think it is comparable to eye creams at the same price point. Though I'm currently using another eye cream that retails at less than half the price and would likely buy the cheaper option to spend more on a moisturiser or a face mask.

Brand: Kiehl's

Product: Midnight Recovery Eye, 3ml

Price: $59 for 15ml

Where did I get it: Sample with an order from Kiehl's

I would likely: use if gifted

Rate: 4/5

My thoughts:

Again, like most eye creams on the market, this one is specifically designed to visibly improve the delicate area around the eye by minimising the appearance of lines and wrinkles while firming the skin. It goes on smoothly, no dragging, and left the skin around my eyes feeling really hydrated and smooth right through until morning; it is a lovely eye cream. If I were to buy an eye cream, would I buy this one? Not likely, because I prefer products that I can use morning and night, and branding aside, I feel that the scent and the thickness of this product are not suited to daytime use.

Brand: Pele Perfumerie

Product: Destress Bath Salts - Tasmanian Lavender & Geranium

Price: $24.00 for 400g

Where did I get it: Gifted in exchange for content

I would likely: purchase for myself or as a gift

Rate: 5/5

My thoughts:

Pour as little or as much as you like in a fully filled warm bath, though I found 3 Tablespoons is the perfect amount. This bath soak comprises of a triple blend of Epsom Salt, Dead Sea Salt, and Pink Himalayan Salt combined with pure essential oils. This bath salt was my go-to when I wanted to take a bath that would stop time and give me a moment to decompress. After a soak I would feel relaxed, and my skin would feel amazing too. I love that this product is made in Australia by a passionate individual. This is a product I would most certainly purchase for myself or as a gift.

Brand: Dermal Therapy

Product: Exfoliating Foot Mask

Price: $24.95 for 1 treatment

Where did I get it: Gifted in exchange for content

I would likely: purchase

Rate: 5/5

My thoughts: An easy to use pair foot sock formulated with a special exfoliation technology for superior efficacy. It contains unique exfoliating agents that enable penetration in the skin's various layers resulting in visibly smooth feet within 2 weeks. Within a week of using this product, my feet looked and felt smoother after all the skin had peeled off, that is. There was indeed quite a bit of dead skin and calluses that came off in the process, and I think this might be something I'll do every 2 months.

Brand: La Roche Posay

Product: Toleriane Ultra Light Sensitive Moisturiser

Price: $41.95 for 40ml

Where did I get it: Bellabox

I would likely: purchase

Rate: 5/5

My thoughts: La Roche Posay is my go-to brand for sunscreen, and I've previously purchased a few products from their skincare range. With the Toleriane Ultra Light Sensitive Moisturiser, I simply love how light it feels on the skin while being moisturising and calming at the same time. In my opinion, this is an excellent option for those with sensitive or reactive skin who want just an excellent moisturiser.
