August 2019 Glam Squad Bellabox Review

August 2019 Glam Squad Bellabox

This month's (August) Bellabox is themed Glam Squad, the box I received was full with over $45  worth in products that can assist you in creating a glamours look whilst on-the-go with ease. With spring just around the corner, it’s was great to also recieve a number of products perfect for the warmer months. Everyone who gets sent the August Glam Squad Bellabox receives a full size Floss lipgloss, in a classic neutral shade; as well as Wet n Wild’s nail polish in coral or periwinkle.I was also delighted to receive a sample size of my favourite sunscreen, La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid.

For those who aren't familiar with Bellabox, it is a monthly themed beauty box with 1-2 hero products which are generally full-sized, 3-4 beauty products which will often vary from subscriber to subscriber and there's typically a bonus product which tends to be a sachet sample. I have found that in each box I receive that there is a good mix of on trend, new and classic health and beauty items. I have on numerous occasions purchased products after trying them through Bellabox, because I loved them so much. If you want to treat yourself to a wrapped surprise every month, then Bellabox is the way to go.

Here are all the gorgeous products that I received in my Bellabox this month:

EVERYONE WILL RECEIVE:

Floss My New Favourite Lipgloss, full-size, RRP $23 for 15g
Whenever I hear the word lipgloss, I think back to my teenage years in the late 90's when lipgloss was sticky, icky, drying and super shinny. I would be lying if didn't say I didn't start thinking the same thoughts when I heard that this month's Bellabox would contain a full-size lipgloss. However much to my delight (and surprise) Floss Beauty's My New Favourite Lipgloss provides anything but that  sticky icky feeling and leaves my lips feeling hydrated. The lipgloss comes in a range of classic neutral hues with a formula that and smells divine, it reminds me of a delicious cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows. I've been applying it daily as part of my workday look and I've noticed that it has had a positive hydrating impact as my lips aren't cracking and drying out due the heating/cooling in the office, like they were prior to receiving this product.

Wet 'n' Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Polish, full-size, RRP $5.99 for 7ml
In recent months I started visiting a nail salon to get my nails painted, the reason is because I would spend so much time at home painting them only to have them chip within the following 24 hours, some polishes did last a little longer however it was pretty annoying. After I  get my current polish removed I'm keen to try the Wet n Wild’s 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Polish gel formula. It doesn’t require a top coat, cures without a lamp, and provides up to 2 weeks of color and shine in 1 easy step. Also something that also sparks my curiosity about this product is that according to directions it doesn't require any harsh removal either. Some people received this product in Coral in the Bellabox, and others like myself received it in Peri-wink-le. Both colours are perfect for adding a pop of colour to your look during the warmer months.

UNIQUE TO MY BELLABOX:

Derma E Vitamin C Serum, sample size 7ml, RRP 34.95 for 60ml
This product is great as an anti ageing and hydration serum. Through using this sample I have noticed a slight difference to my complexion. I use it each morning after washing my face, and prior to applying moisturiser. On top of its vegan, natural, and cruelty-free formula, this serum blends the nourishing goodness of Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, Aloe and Vitamin E. The formulation works to diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and age spots.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid, sample size 3ml, RRP $29.95 for 50ml
Whenever anyone asks me about my skincare routine or ask how I maintain a youthful look, I always mention the use of sunscreen. I do have a few sunscreen/sun protection options that I use however the product I swear by for use whilst being active outdoors is La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid. It doesn't leave my hands greasy (which is important when kayaking) and it doesn't cause a skin reaction for me either. This sample has gone straight into my sports bag!

John Frieda Hair Products - Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Shampoo, sample size 45ml, RRP $17.99 for 250ml
I've really enjoyed using John Frieda's hair products, especially those that are designed to bring back colour to blonde hair that has lost it's oomph. The John Frieda product I received in my Bellabox is the Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Shampoo. I alternate this shampoo with my regular shampoo, as some purple shampoos can cause hair t become dry and I already battle with dry hair as a result of sweat and taking part in water sports.  This shampoo does everything you expect, it tones, smooths, and adds shine.

BONUS PRODUCTS:

Revlon Be Fabulous Fine Hair C.R.E.A.M Lightweight Conditioner, sachet
Revlon Be Fabulous Fine Daily Care Cream Lightweight Conditioner is a nourishing and moisturizing conditioner for fine hair that nourishes and helps to create volume and body to the hair. I've used various Revlon Be Fabulous hair care products over the past few years and have not found one that did not leave my hair feeling soft and silky. This product is incredibly easy to use, you simply distribute the product over damp hair, let it set a bit and then rinse, just like you would with a regular conditioner.

To sum up what I think of the August Bellabox in 5 words is... "pop of colour for Spring". I can't wait to see what beauty products will be in the September Bellabox!
