Last Few Paintings For 2010

These are probably my last few paintings for 2010, I'm sure I'll create a few more illustrations and pieces over the next few days but already being the 27 December I'd be cutting it fine.

I painted these for no particular reason other than to paint and try a few new techniques I've been working with lately. It was nice to also catch up with some new and old stencils.

Though one of my sisters did want a painting for her office which has no window, maybe 1 or 2 of these might find a home there!

Art Boy Gallery

As of today I've joined the likes of Ralf Kempken, Matt Irwin, Dirt Fish, Kareem Rizk and many more at Art Boy Gallery in Prahran. If you happen to be on Greville Street enjoying a latte in the sun head towards the train station and have a peek inside the gallery. A Wreath I Made

Just in time for Christmas here is the picture of the wreath I made over the weekend. The fabrics used are from an old pair of jeans, an old shirt, scraps from other projects and some of the blue gingham I had left over from when I made a table cloth a little while back. I'm pretty please with how it turned out!

Hints + Tips - Tin Can Lantern

I regulary use tin cans for different things and hence I got all excitted when I came across a tutorial on Home Life outlining how to make a lantern out of one. I think they would be perfect as a gift or for use on cool summer evenings! Tinned spaghetti every night this week? Ummm... maybe not.

Hip Hop Art Auction

This Friday night is the Hip Hop Art Auction at At Large Gallery and I'll be putting in three pieces for auction. Small works will be hung in gallery for the silent auction, and others will be hung, photographed and projected one at a time while the 2 emcess freestyle rhyme as punters bid on each piece. It will take place in the courtyard of gallery if weather permits and they have some fabulous dj's lined up. Its their last event for the year, and I would love to see you there! Plus why not pick up some artworks as gifts this Christmas!

Marc Jacobs Skateboards

Recently the crew at Marc Jacobs looked deep into their advertising archives to release a collection of skatedecks featuring photos by Juergen Teller. Aren't they just divine!

These beautiful decks feature Lisa Maria from spring 2000, Kate Moss from fall 2000, Stephanie Seymour from fall 2001 and M.I.A. from spring 2009. The decks are limited to 100 pieces each and retail for $69 USD. Sadly for me in Australia they are only available across the US, at Bookmarc and Marc Jacobs Men’s in New York.

A Website For Curvy

CURVY now has their website up just in time for their big launch in Sydney tonight! They will be adding more and more content over the next few weeks. In addition they also have some other exciting projects coming up in the very near furture, but mum's the word... shhhh...

Studio No. 2

As part of something I'm keeping hush hush right now I was taking some photos in my creative space. Above is a shot of me painting yesterday in what I like to refer as Studio No. 2, though really it's just the garage. Geez it was warm, though cooler than being in the direct sunlight.

Deck The Halls

I'm a huge fan of Christmas! As this is the first year I'm not in a share house or at my parents I've been delighted to be able to decorate (or in this case create) my own Christmas Tree. I'm also proud to say that the whole tree including bucket and rocks cost me less than $25.

Of coarse Nickel couldn't help her self either could she? Even before I got it all up she was at the tree branches chewing and sussing out the decorations.

I also have grand plans to create my own stockings, wreath and other decorations. I let you know how I go with them!
